About five months ago, my family decided to begin the adventure of a lifetime. At the time, I had been away at a spiritual conference seeking the Lord. You can imagine my surprise when I came home in excitement of what God had done for me, only to have my parents set the family down and tell all four of us children that they were going to sell the house, and were planning on giving up everything we owned to travel in a forty foot long school bus to travel in. Life was sure about to get interesting from there.
From then after, the six of us began the grand journey of seeking after a new life in God's plan for us. We began with the house, and quickly sold it to a wonderful couple who allowed us to rent it back from them until our bus has finished being renovated. Then, we found the bus, all caked in grime, gum, and grossness. We even had to take off a bad word or two off from the back wall of our new home. Dad and Gavin then started with the deconstruction, and though we spent a long time taking it all apart, we have finally begun to put our own pieces together to form our new house on wheels.
So, in short, we have not chosen the most conventional lifestyle, but then again, my family never has. Though it is extremely interesting trying to answer simple questions like: "Where is your house?" or "What do you do in your free time?" I do realize that life in the Hamons family, however strange, will end up being life changing.
