The above city ordinance revision has been initiated specifically targeting our school bus conversion in town. When we first bought our bus for conversion we checked with city codes to see what we needed to do to be in compliance. Since the powers that be can’t (though they have tried) make us move the bus under the existing one paragraph parking ordinance, they are working quickly to change the ordinance (with this five page revision) allowing them to force move our bus out of town. It is well known that the our bus is only temporarily parked In the 3 foot deep cut-in beside our home, but that hasn’t stopped the constant harassment we have endured by those, many blocks away, who have been using their socio-political positions to hinder us. I was speaking to my neighbor across the street earlier today, he was very frustrated to hear about the revision... partially because he is sympathetic and supportive of our cause and partially because the new revision affects him directly as well. He’s not happy about the new proposal that would require him to get a permit every time he wanted to park a vehicle or a trailer over 25’ beside his house to do work around his home. This reminded me that the ordinance doesn’t just impact our ability to complete our bus project but all those who live in Cleveland city limits in their rights as well. Please take a moment to read the ordinance and if you find the proposal negatively affects you as well please join me at City Hall on the 23rd in Cleveland at 1 PM speak against it before the vote. Thank you. p.s- We would like to take a minute to thank all the neighbors in our immediate neighborhood. Before Sherry and I bought our bus we went to each of them to ask their opinion and approval of our project. We couldn’t have predicted how enthusiastic and supportive they would be. Thanks to each of you for all the ways you’ve contributed to our family and the Serenity Bus Project in your own special way... we love you. Thank you for your support.
